Mike Mc Entire
Mike McEntire aka “Mack Dawg” has been at the forefront of action sports films for more then two decades. He has produced, directed, edited and shot 40 films to date. He started Mack Dawg Productions in 1988 and released his first skate film “Sick Boys”. He then went on to work with the legendary skate company H-Street with the release of Hokus Pokus. Then in 1990 he started making snowboarding films starting with “New Kids on the Twock”. He also started Standard Films and worked with that company for several years before moving back to solo projects. Mack Dawg was a key component in the founding of Forum Snowboards and released several groundbreaking team videos. He started the Transworld Snowboarding Magazine and ran it for 4 issues. He also started Powerband Films with Jay Schweitzer and continues to work on the “On the Pipe” series. His work is synonymous with the highest levels of sports achievements. Athletes have flocked to his films in hope that they will be portrayed in a light that only Mack Dawg can provide.
In the course of his career Mike has constantly found ways to progress his cinematography. From the early days of skate and snow follow cams to high-speed steadicam moto shots through the whoops. From beautiful dolly work to revealing jib shots Mike has found a way to make his filming stand out from the crowd. Most important to him however is the feeling that is conveyed in his work. He wants the viewers to become immersed in the footage and to walk away with a desire to push their own personal limits. Taking a break from filming snowboarding all winter and spring has give Mike a chance to pursue other avenues of filming. From shooting the X-Games in 3D to working with Subaru and Ken Block on Gymkhana Two the doors are wide open to new projects. Mike is still as dedicated to finding the perfect shot as he always has been. Now after more then twenty years producing, directing, editing and shooting, you can bet he will continue to get them.
